Here are the exact directions to get you to our annual RCNA Rattan Fest held in our beautiful Rattan Creek Park! Keep in mind, this is how things played out in past years. We hope to keep it the same this year. Just please have some patience with us if things don't go exactly according to our plans!
This first image above is a big overview map of the City of Austin to give you a rough idea of where the Rattan Creek Park Community Center is located. Think the northwest corner of Parmer & McNeil and the southwest corner of Parmer & Anderson Mill.
See that big red arrow pointing to that little red dot? This is your ultimate destination.
This next image is a closer area overview map to give you a sense of exactly where Rattan Creek Neighborhood is located. On this map you can see Lakeline Mall and the Austin Aquarium along with the streets Parmer, McNeil, Anderson Mill, and 183 all clearly labeled.
Once again the big red arrow pointing to the little red dot is your ultimate destination.
In this image we are now getting into the neighborhood. Again the red blob is the ultimate destination.
Here we've taken that last image and blown it up even more. That growing red blog is still your destination. The streets are still the same.
This next image shows us the Rattan Creek Park & Community Center. The red line is the suggested parking. However, if that is full, feel free to park in the neighborhood. Just remember to avoid blocking driveways or fire hydrants!!
The yellow circle highlights the parking lot, which will be closed to the public during the event, and the blue line indicates the general path for vendors. This will all be broken out into more detail below.
The final image blows up the area of the park where we will waiting for you! There is a lot here, so bear with us!
Thus endeth the Official Annual RCNA Rattan Fest Location Map Guide!
Hope to see you at the next one!
We hope you are able to join us as a vendor at the next Rattan Fest! Setup will start @ 7:30am.
If you want to mail in a check and do not want to pay online using paypal, go ahead and fill out the mail-in form below and mail that in with your check. Address and details are on the form. We suggest that you only fill out the online form if you intend to make payment with paypal.
Please keep in mind that we do not refund no shows, and our event is rain or shine.
And without further ado - on to the FAQ! If you see any conflicting information, please send an email to webmaster@rattancreek.org with the problem, and we will respond and fix it up. This all gets better and better with your help! You can click each question below to show and hide the answer:
Am I allowed to rent a booth and just use it as a thrift/garage sale booth?
How do I get the member pricing?
Am I allowed to share a booth with someone else?
Am I allowed to register for more than one booth?
Absolutely! In fact we have had a very small number of vendors that just couldn't fit into the 10 foot x 10 foot space provided, so they had to go ahead and register for more than one booth.
Just make a note on your form and send in the appropriate payment. If you are a member, you will only pay $5 per booth. As a non-member you will pay $25 per booth. There are no extra fees for extra booths beyond the normal booth registration cost.
Am I allowed to use a cashier’s check to make my vendor application payment?
What kind of notification will I receive once I’ve submitted my application?
In years past we have used a first come, first choice approach. However, that has proven to be incredibly difficult to manage. So this year we are going to assign spots ahead of time. And to be honest, we want to do our best to reward those of you who make an early commitment to Rattan Fest. So we will be placing people on a first paid, first placed basis. The longer you wait to pay, the more out in the "boonies" you will be. So get your registration form and payment in early. Only when we have received BOTH will we place you!
On the day of, check in with the RCNA table and we will make sure you are properly placed.
What is provided for me, as a vendor, the day of Rattan Fest?
We supply your 10 foot x 10 foot section of earth, and all the marketing leading up to the event that we can muster, and we provide the venue for people to show up!!
You’ll have to supply your own canopy tent (if you have or want one), your own tables, your own office supplies, your own extension cord (25 feet or longer) if you need power, and basically anything else you'll need. We are there to show you your spot, and then get out of the way let you get set up and do your thing!
What do I, as a vendor at Rattan Fest, have to bring?
Wait – I need to bring our own extension cord if I require electricity?
I want to sponsor the Deer Park Ranger Run 5K, or help out in some other way. How do I do that?
If you want to help out with the Deer Park Ranger 5K, the organization and responsibility for this event has been transferred to Deer Park middle school. The contact there is Meredith Holmes and can be contacted via email at message.meredith@gmail.com.
The Ranger Run 5K is sponsored by Deer Park middle school. Although the RCNA and the Deer Park PTA do work closely together to organize these events, we are separate entities. That being said, if you want a booth at Rattan Fest, you have to make a separate full payment for that booth. We do not have any mutual sponsorship at this time.
Alternatively, ask the Deer Park Ranger Run 5K organizers whether or not they would be able to help you out.
I have a question not answered here, who can I contact?
Our Rattan Fest chairwoman is Dallas Hall and can be contacted via email at dallas@rliv.net.
For questions about the Rattan Fest itself, like music and food and bathrooms for example, please check out the event page for that general information regarding the Rattan Fest.
And please feel free to send a link to this awesome information to all your friends and family so they can register their own Rattan Fest booth!! Booths are open to all – both members and nonmembers!
See you at Rattan Fest!!
Rattan Fest is an annual neighborhood event, organized and run by the RCNA, that offers the opportunity for your neighbors to set up booths showcasing whatever talents or products or businesses they have so that we can all support each other here in the neighborhood. Of course, vendor participation is not only limited to neighbors, so if an outside vendor is interested in our neighborhood, we are interested in them!
Attendance to Rattan Fest is ABSOLUTELY FREE and open to the public! So there is every reason to stop by and check out the next one! We're sure to have a wide variety of vendor booths, live musicians & bands, cool stuff from the Williamson County Sheriff's Department and Jollyville Fire Department, a free keg or two (starting at noon-ish), food trucks, a massive bounce house for the kids, and of course your awesome neighbors!
With bands playing all afternoon, you are always free to bring out a lawn chair or blanket, bring a cooler with drinks for yourself or to share, hang out with your neighbors and whoever else decides to show up, and just relax & enjoy the day - NO GLASS!!!
Keep in mind that different vendors are going to be able to spend different amounts of time out at Rattan Fest. Just because you see a tent packing up doesn't mean the entire Rattan Fest itself is shutting down! If there are still people around the keg, Rattan Fest is still going!
The location of Rattan fest is in the community center parking lot and adjoining park grounds along Elkhorn Mountain. Keep in mind that the community center parking lot will be closed to the public, and will be used for the giant bounce house, the food vendors, the Wilco Sherriff's office, and the Jollyville Fire Department.
And to repeat, this event is open to the public - so bring the bus! You more than welcome to bring all the friends and family and coworkers and acquiantances and friends of friends (etc) that you care to!
The annual event is kicked off with the Ranger Run 5K. The RCNA used to sponsor and organize the 5K as a fundraiser for itself, however the RCNA decided in the past to hand this event off to the Deer Park Middle School PTA, at their request. So now all the organizing for the race is handled by them, and all the fundraising proceeds go to them. However, the RCNA is still very much involved and we always want all our local schools to have great success no matter what they are doing, or when.
