You may have noticed that we have not delivered a printed newsletter to your door in a while. The reason is simple, we currently do not have enough volunteers willing to take on the various newsletter responsibilities. We have someone that can do the layout and design and we have someone willing to handle the ad sales and ad management. However, we still need someone to handle some content creation, and we need someone to handle the printing and distribution.

And while those jobs are important, the main role needed is someone that can act as overall editor to make sure everything that needs to be included is included, and to make sure deadlines are met, basically someone to act as the newsletter main contact, and team lead, and basically the "owner".

Unfortunately, until these positions are filled, we will not be publishing our newsletters. Email president@rattancreek.org if you are interested in helping out with the newsletter! Remember, all the smaller roles are important, but without someone really willing to take ownership of the newsletter and make it happen, it is not going to happen.

In order to be more transparent about exactly what the newsletter needs are, we've added a a page outlining exactly what it takes to put the newsletter together. So if you are interested in further details, go check out that page.

We had a newsletter related poll running for the month of March 2016, and it showed that a newsletter is indeed in demand. You can view the results here. But again, without someone to really take the lead and drive the newsletter, the newsletter will simply not exist.

Once we are publishing newsletters again, we will do our very best to get newly printed newsletters posted to the website as quickly as possible - no promises! In the meantime, feel free to peruse some of our past newsletters. We are also working diligently to track down additional electronic versions of newsletters from the distant and not so distant past! And if you know of someone that may have digital editions of our past newsletters, or you have some yourself, send an email to webmaster@rattancreek.org, and we'll fill this list out some more!
